Sagismar I (1486 - 1516), commonly known as Sagismar the Tall, was the last Grand Prince of Magavick as Sagismar III from 1499 to 1514 and the first King of Vicus from 1514 to his death in 1516. Sagismar’s short reign was characterized by the Unification of Vicus; however his reckless rule costed his own life at the Battle of the Alpatkre and the lives of his subjects in the civil war that followed his death.
Sagismar was the eldest son of Prince Sagismar II by his third legal wife Gamila of Pencean. Due to his youth upon his father’s death in 1490, the nobles favored his uncle Lothmal for succession. However, Prince Lothmal’s tyranny towards the nobles resulted in a coup in 1499, crowning Sagismar as Prince Sagismar III of Magavick at the age of thirteen.
